How much does ALMA’s litigation support service cost?

ALMA's litigation support service ultimately depends on the location of the courthouse your case is being filed in and the additional legal services needed for litigation support. ALMA handles all of the legal services and referrals needed to make litigation support swift and easy.

Litigation support services often includes 4x different legal services; Process Server Charges, Court Filing Fees, Hearing Fees, and Court Reporter Fees.

The average total cost for service of process on one individual is $400. The average total cost for our court filing service plus court filing fees is $350. The average hearing fees cost around $600. And the average cost of court reporting fees being around $500. The total average cost of litigation support is around $1850 and can easily cost more depending on the number of individuals involved in your court case.

Litigation support services encompass a variety of tasks essential for legal proceedings, and their costs can vary significantly based on the services required.

Court Filings and E-Filings

Can ALMA help me with a court filing?

Yes, we can assist you with a court filing. Court filings, document retrievals, and courier services are all charged the same rates as service of process or any other court document services. The only major difference is the specific schedule each service follows. These service timelines vary.

A Local routine court filing (deadline within 5x days) costs $85 per address. A Local rush court filing (deadline within 24 hours) is $125 per address. And a Local same day rush court filing (deadline being on the same day as assignment) costs $150 per address.

A National routine court filing (deadline within 5x days) costs $165 per address. A National rush court filing (deadline within 24 hours) costs $250 per address. And a National same day rush court filing (deadline on the same day as assignment) costs $385 per address.

Court filings also include Subpoena Domestications, which follow the same pricing as above. Please note however that many courthouses no longer permit in person Subpoena Domestications on behalf of attorneys, even if attorneys authorize agents to do so. Many times attorneys and paralegals will have to domesticate their Subpoenas online via the courts e-filing system. The courts DO however allow in person Subpoena Domestications for most Pro-Se matters.

Please note ALMA can also e-file affidavits and proofs online. E-filing services are available in California, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Indiana, and Texas. ALMA can help your firm increase efficiency and save time by eFiling service affidavits and court documents.

Expert Witnesses and Hearings

How much does it cost for an Expert Witness service?

ALMA charges $425 per hour for expert witness services. Deposition appearances cost about $495 per hour and trial testimony costs $575 per hour. Please note rates can vary depending on the type of expert, the expert's field, and the complexity of the court case. For example, medical experts may charge much more due to their expertise the amount of time needed.

It is also common for many experts to require an upfront retainer fee, which usually averages around $2000.

Court Reporting Services

How much does your Court Reporting service cost?

Court reporting typically costs between $6 and $9 per page for standard transcripts, with additional appearance fees costing $350. Hourly rates vary from $95 to $200 based on the complexity of the service.

Rush delivery of transcripts cost an additional $150 and rough draft fees are $4.00 per page for unedited versions.

Legal Mediation Services

How much does a legal mediation service cost?

ALMA will put you in touch with the right legal mediation service. Legal mediation services and legal mediators often cost around $300-$500 per hour. Note that there is usually an initial fee of $400-$500 that you will need to pay upfront for this type of service. The total cost ultimately varies based on experience and complexity of the case, but we will identify the mediator that best suits your needs and is most cost-effective.

If cost is a factor, there are some community mediation services we can direct you to as well. These community services may offer you a free or low cost option, especially for disputes that do not involve significant financial stakes.

Legal Arbitration Services

How much do legal arbitration services cost?

Arbitration is reserved to attorneys and arbitrators who specialize in complex cases. Legal arbitration services can vary widely and can range from $5000 to over $60,000 for more complex disputes. If it's a moderately complex case the cost can be around $20,000 to $50,000.

The arbitration service fees include filing fees, arbitrator's hourly fees, administrative and legal support services, your own legal counsel's fees, and expert witness fees if needed.

Believe it or not arbitration is typically more expensive than traditional litigation.

Notary Services

How much does it cost to get a document notarized?

Notary fees vary significantly across the United States, with each state setting its own maximum charges for different notarial acts.

If you need a document notarized in Washington, DC, the cost is $5 per notary. The cost in Maryland is $8 per notary and the cost in Virginia is $10 per notary.

Mobile Notary Services

We can accommodate mobile notary services; however, those are restricted to Washington, DC at this time. We cannot provide mobile notary services in other US states right now but we can put you in touch with a mobile notary outside of Washington, DC who can further assist you. The mobile notary service in Washington, DC costs $75 for the travel fee plus the $5 DC notary fee. The DC mobile notary service costs $80 in total for 1x notarization. If you need a mobile notary to notarize more than one page or signature, then its $5 extra for each page or additional signature.

Remote Online Notarizations

We also provide remote online notarizations from Maryland State. We charge $30 per remote online notarization. This remote online notarization includes electronically notarizing both electronic records and tangible records. If you need assistance remotely notarizing an electronic record we can assist you with the help of our preferred remote online notary vendor.

If you need help remotely notarizing a tangible (physical copy) record we can have one of our team members meet with you virtually over our video feed even if you are in a different part of the world, verify your identity, and then you can ship your document to our office within 3x days of our online appointment and we’ll get the physical copy notarized for you right away.
